Can I combine RF Ablation and TACE therapies?
Combining therapies is possible. We are supporting a trial to investigate this further. There are 2 rationales:
- RF Ablation followed by TACE - here TACE is carried out after RF ablation to embolise any unablated margins.
- TACE then RF ablation - here the reduced blood flow gives a larger ablative field as blood acts as a heat sink. Additionally, any unablated regions may receive chemotherapy as well.
